The hero was JT Miller with just 2:17 left on the clock before he potted the OT game winner. As soon as it went it, the literal pyrotechnics started as the Rangers up and coming forward was mobbed by teammates.

“I mean, that’s a pretty surreal moment, really special,” Miller said afterwards. “I can share it with my family and friends. In front of 40,000 people, that’s something you can only dream about…It was a blast. It was everything obviously I hoped it would be.”

In net, the incomparable Henrik Lundqvist raised his arms and his record, along with the Rangers to 4-0 in outdoor contests. The undefeated streak started in 2012 against the Philadelphia Flyers in one of Hank’s greatest performances. He finished the day with 31 stops on 33 shots.

The Rangers almost blew the game after Paul Carey and Michael Grabner propelled them to a 2-0 lead in the first. They were saved by a PP in OT that led to the winner. Blueshirts defenseman, Kevin Shattenkirk applauded Miller’s efforts saying, “[Miller’s] ability to stay with it and have the presence of mind to find that rebound was a great play by him.”
