NOTES

SEASON SERIES (2-0 NYR)

Via Blueshirts United: Meeting for the third and final time this year, the Rangers look to finish off a sweep of the season series against the Senators on Thursday night. Two weeks ago, on March 26, the Rangers became the first team to clinch a playoff berth in the NHL when they skated to a 5-1 road victory up in Ottawa. Chris Kreider scored twice in that game, reaching 20 goals for the first time in his young career, and added an assist, and Tanner Glass scored his first goal as a New York Ranger. The Rangers penalty killers put forth an outstanding performance by killing off all six Ottawa power plays in that contest while Cam Talbot stopped 23 of 24 shots between the pipes. The Sens last visit to Madison Square Garden came on January 20 with New York winning 3-2 in overtime as Carl Hagelin netted the game winner at 2:55 of OT. Kreider and Kevin Hayes also scored in that game, and Henrik Lundqvist finished with 33 saves. The Rangers have won four of their last five contests against the Senators overall.
