8 teams in on Kreider, Lundqvist talks future, practice notes

Man is it going to be a roller coaster ride from here until the February 24th trade deadline. Rangerstown is going to be either holding their breath on some players or screaming to the hockey gods about others. Bottom line, buckle up because there’s going to be plenty of ups and downs with twists and turns and I will make sure you have all the info you need to get through it.

At least 8 teams in on Kreider

We’ve been saying that even if the Rangers wanted to keep Kreider, where they are as a franchise , what his contract would be, and how tantalizing the offers are going to be will see him moved at the deadline.

As fas as the 8 teams I know 5 and they are:

  • Colorado
  • Boston
  • St. Louis
  • Pittsburgh
  • Tampa Bay

Speculation as to the others would lead me to believe they are playoffs teams like Arizona, Columbus, and maybe Dallas.

Henrik Talks Future

So after practice today Henrik Lundqvist was asked about Eli Manning and if he sees similarities with himself. Here’s what he said in full.

Everyone is hung up on his “no matter what” portion of his comments. All I’m going to say is, don’t read too much into it yet. He loves NY and has committed to staying. I will never say never, but I don’t expect him to ask to be traded.

Key Practice Notes

  • Artemiy Panarin was back on the ice after missing the last game against the Islanders.
  • Igor Shesterkin will start tomorrow and Hank starts Saturday in the home and home with Detroit
  • Ryan Lindgren will play top pair with Jacob Trouba further affirming my belief that the Rangers are pondering Brady Skjei’s Blueshirt future.
