Alexis Lafreniere already showing he is an ambassador for the game of hockey

New York Rangers first round pick Alexis Lafreniere may still be waiting to play in his first NHL hockey game, but he is already proving that he will be a great ambassador to the game of hockey for years to come.

Alexis Lafreniere shows support for women’s hockey

Lafreniere is in New York waiting for training camp to begin at the beginning of January. A still photo retweeted by the NHLPA’s official account displayed what Rangerstown and the NHL fan base can expect from the 19-year-old.

Lafreniere was rocking a PWHPA hoodie. The Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association was feeling the love with the NHL’s most talked about player doing little more than walking through the Rangers equipment room. Make no mistake here, he knew exactly what he was doing when he threw that hoodie on. During uncertain times he found a way to send a messaage of unity in hockey in the simpleset of ways.

The Rangers rookie has one of the few women agents representing him, Emilie Castonguay, so this isn’t too much of a surprise to see.

He hasn’t set a skate on the Garden ice and he has already displayed his loyalty too the game of hockey regardless of gender.

This is not just a boost to the Rangers hockey club, but to the players union, the Professional Womens Hockey League and to his family who has seemed to brought him up in a way that required respect to one another above all things.

Lafreniere is already sending out positive vibes and its not even Jan. 13 yet!
