Breaking: Artemi Panarin, Jacob Trouba, and Ryan Lindgren done for the season, David Quinn reacts to Wilson fine

Rangers head coach David Quinn has just announced that Artemi Panarin, Jacob Trouba, and Ryan Lindgren are done for the season. Both Trouba and Lindgren are out with upper-body injuries that appeared to be head related. As for Panarin, he was dealing with a back issue a few games ago which was properly either re-aggravated or made worse by Tom Wilson’s body slam.

Update: Quinn confirmed the season ending injury occurred last night as a direct result of Wilson’s slam.

More information as it comes in.

After practice David Quinn was asked about the NHL only deciding to fine Wilson. “Not at all. Anybody in hockey, and certainly everybody in our organization, is very disappointed,” he expalined. “A line was crossed. He didn’t have his helmet on. He was vulnerable and he got hurt. To me, there was an awful lot there to suspend him.”

Rangers should call up Mason Geertsen

Alexandar Georgiev will get the start tomorrow. Since the NHL opted not to suspend Wilson, the Rangers should use one of their two remaining call-ups on Mason Geertsen. He’s 6-4 heavyweight that can handle any policing/protection the team needs tomorrow.
