Breaking: Mika Zibanejad will miss the start of New York Rangers camp, listed as day-to-day

The biggest news to come out of today’s presser is that Mika Zibanejad, along with Keith Kinkaid, and Justin Richards will miss the opening of training camp.

Jeff Gorton made the announcement today and when pressed if Mika was injured replied:

“Right now we’ll just list them as day to day and hopefully none of it is long term and that we’ll get them back on the ice as soon as possible. Any time we can give you an update on these guys we will.”

Mika did get in much later than most of his overseas teammates and quarantine protocols could be a factor. At this time, speculation will not help but the good news is that he is listed as day-to-day.

Zibanejad is the team’s number one center, best goal-scorer, and a key to any success the Rangers expect to have this season.
