Brendan Lemieux says a new deal with the Rangers is close

Restricted free agent Brendan Lemieux was on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and said a new deal was close. The 24 year-old grit forward is an important player to the Rangers bottom six.

Lemieux says new deal close

“I am excited, I am sure we will get something done. Something done here soon,” Lemieux answered when asked about his RFA status. He also may have tipped off who the Rangers may be taking at the draft.

“We got a lot of young skill, a lot of speed,” Lemieux started. “Mika Zibanejad, and Bread, and this new kid we are supposed to be getting that’s incredible.” There’s only one way you can take that and it sounds like Alexis Lafreniere at #1.
