Dolan unlikely to be selling the Rangers anytime soon

Earlier I reacted to a column by David Pagnotta the Editor in Chief of The Fourth Period Magazine, claiming James Dolan is investigating a possible sale of the New York Rangers.

You can read the initial story in full here.

Within an hour of publishing that post, I was contacted by a very knowledgeable source close to the team that refuted Pagnotta’s claims. The quick response reinforces my initial belief that Pagnotta’s report seemed unlikely.

While James Dolan hasn’t interfered with hockey decisions, he has always remained one of the team’s biggest supporters. That goes beyond just the usual responsibilities of an owner too. I vividly recall James Dolan attending the funeral of Martin St. Louis’ mother during the playoffs. It was a classy move and one of the big reasons why so many players usually have nothing but rave reviews about the franchise.

The bottom line is this, James Dolan isn’t selling the Rangers anytime soon.
