Henrik Lundqvist wants to talk to Rangers this summer about future

Igor Shesterkin is week to week after being involved in a car accident last night with Pavel Buchnevich who is fine. First off, they are both lucky to have been wearing their seatbelts or this could’ve been much worse. Here’s to a speedy recovery. From a business side, the injury removes any notion of trading Alexandar Georgiev and thus leaves the Rangers King of the Net in limbo.

Lundqvist’s Future

Henrik Lundqvist’s quote to reporters today was very revealing. For all the conversations he and David Quinn have been having, it doesn’t seem that Lundqvist has a clear picture of what management wants to do in goal, aside from naming Igor Shesterkin the team’s #1.

So now the speculation will begin until;

A: Georgiev is traded at the draft
B: Lundqvist waives his NMC or retires
