Jesper Fast could be on the move soon

One Ranger that we know contenders would love to have, but up until now there’s been limited information on is Jesper Fast. The 28 year old pending UFA winger is perfect for any team looking to solidify their penalty kill and bottom six for the stretch and playoffs. With 24 points in 57 games, Fast provides a nice offensive punch as well.

Who Is Interested?

Very early on I was told that the Nashville Predators were interested. Another possible Western Conference team could be the Canucks who are still out their looking to bolster their lineup after acquiring Tyler Toffoli. In the East you have the Islanders looking for forward depth and it is more likely they are in on Fast over Kreider. You also have the Caps who add depth every playoffs, the Leafs who may part with Jeremy Bracco for proven NHL forward help, and the Flyers. Both the Caps and Flyers were recently mentioned to me by Dennis Bernstein from SiriusXMNHL.

Likely on the move before the weekend

I’ve heard and confirmed with two others that this is a seller’s market and Fast is generating buzz. It’s possible he could be moved within the next 28-48 hours. As far as a return, a conditional pick makes some sense as well as a mid level prospect. That pick could be as high as a second in the 2020 draft.

Another note and will only solidify the rumor that Fast is on the move is if he is scratched in favor of newly acquired RW, Julien Gauthier. Fast and Kreider (as well as others) did not take part in the optional skate today. We won’t possibly know for sure who will be scratched up until game-time this evening.
