The NHL revealed all the Reverse Retro jerseys on Thursday and the New York Rangers will once again go with the Liberty logo.

In the last rendition of the jersey, they went with a navy blue and a single red and grey stripe on the sleeves. This time around, the Liberty logo will be emblazoned on Rangers blue with red at the bottom of the sleeve.

Lady Liberty was finally brought back for the Reverse Retros in 2020 after last wearing it in 2007.

This limited-edition jersey will be available for pre-order on beginning October 20 at 12PM ET and at the MSG Team Stores starting November 15.

The Liberty jersey debuted as our first “alternate” jersey in 1996-97 season and has been a fan-favorite ever since! This year’s 2022 Reverse Retro takes the beloved “Lady Liberty” and remixes it with the Rangers current colorway.

Other product details include:

  • The Reverse Retro 2022 incorporates Rangers “Blueshirt” Royal Blue in the body complimented by red color-blocking and navy stripes.
  • The shoulder patches and crest tie back to the original jersey in white and silver.
  • Current NHL Shield logo is remixed in vintage orange and black colors.

Of course, there’s plenty of good stuff that happened with Lady Liberty on proud display. How about Wayne Gretzky’s final hat-trick of his career in the playoffs against the the Flyers on 5/18/97.

On 10/15/05, Henrik Lundqvist played his second NHL game as the Rangers defeated the Atlanta Thrashers 5-1 and the “HEN-RIK” chant was born. Or what about the greatest shootout in history where Marek Malik scored a between the legs beauty in the 15th round against Capitals on 11/26/05.
