Nils Lundkvist removed from Team Sweden after COVID-19 detected on his SHL team

On October 29th, the SHL announced the postponements of games due to positive cases of COVID-19. According to Lulea team doctors, there are confirmed cases on the team and they suspect more.

SHL press release on postponements

It is the overall medical assessment of Luleå and Rögle’s medical team that is the basis for the decision. Luleå has confirmed Covid cases within the team and suspicion of further cases, thus postponing their two remaining matches before the break, comments Johan Hemlin, sports director and deputy CEO SHL.

New game dates will be announced shortly.

What’s going on with Nils Lundkvist

Recently, Nils was added to Team Sweden’s roster but has been removed prior to the Karjala Tournament which begins in three days. This does not mean Nils has tested positive since there is no official report.

What can be safely understood here is that Nils must go through a quarantine period either way. We wish Nils and all those impacted well.
