Rangers and Tony DeAngelo come to terms on a two year deal

The Rangers and Tony DeAngelo have come to terms on a brand new deal. It’s a two-year contract with an AAV of $4.8 million. This comes well before his October 20th arbitration date.

The 24 year-old blue-liner is coming off a season where he scored 53 points in 68 games. Had he played a full season at his .77 points per game, he would have notched 63 points.

Tony DeAngelo is coming off one year deal at $925,000 and is now set to QB the Blueshirts PP for the next two seasons. There is also a possibility that DeAngelo could be used on the left side per Jeff Gorton to replace Marc Staal.

The Rangers now have over $10 million in cap space to retain Ryan Strome and Brendan Lemieux.
