Let’s start off with the best news possible, Mika Zibanejad skated and looked healthy today. He will center a new line with Alexis Lafreniere on the left and Chris Kreider on the right.

This is the center I wanted to see Lafreniere play with. Alexis vision and passing ability should help Zibanejad who has a great shot and knack for scoring goals.

The second line will be new as well. Pavel Buchnevich will play with Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome. It’s a move Panarin is excited about, citing Buchnevich’s checking and passing ability. Both speaking Russian is also more comfortability.

Igor Shesterkin will start

The Rangers will fall back to Igor Shesterkin as the starting net-minder. Igor had a rough start against the Islanders but settled down. He stopped all 8 third period shots he saw in relief of Alexander Georgiev against the Devils.

For the season, Shesterkin is 0-1 with a 3.09 GAA and .902 SV%. Expect those stats to improve quickly.
