The New York Rangers held a spirited practice today after a tough loss to the Islanders last night. David Quinn provided several updates, so let’s take a look.

Jacob Trouba out, Zac Jones a candidate to play

“It’s been hard because we haven’t had a lot of team practices so it’s been tough to judge him,” David Quinn explained on a date for Zac Jones debut. “From the stuff that you see, he’s got a quick brain, quick stick, a great skill set – really understand the game,” he continued. “We have another practice tomorrow and it will give us another opportunity to get a feel for what he’s capable of doing.”

Well it turns out we may find just how capable he is against the Flyers tomorrow night as he was mentioned as being a candidate to play.

Trouba left the game mid-way through the first period and did not return. He is considered day to day but has already been ruled out for tomorrow and I suspect longer.

Libor Hajek should also be a consideration with Anthony Bitetto having another rough outing. If the Rangers think Tarmo Reunanen is a better option because he can play the right side, bring him up. He’s played very well for the Pack.

David Quinn also announced he will be going right back to Igor Shesterkin tomorrow. I would expect Alexandar Georgiev to play the second game against the Flyers which is a back-to-back situation.
