Rangers Reverse Retro jersey teases return of Lady Liberty

The New York Rangers put out their teaser today for the Adidas Reverse Retro jersey. The color scheme and modern-era NYR logo are a clear sign that Lady Liberty will proudly display on their chests again.

Adidas teased their new Reverse Retro line of jerseys recently. The rumor with regards to the Rangers is that the #96 shown in the video below indicates a return to Lady Liberty. Those sweaters debuted in 1996. The full reveal by Adidas is set for Monday, 11/16.

For now the Rangers tweeted out these photos further solidifying everyone’s guesses that Lady Liberty is making a comeback. That modified Rangers logo was on the shoulder of the original jerseys that debuted in ’96.

You know who is going to be real happy about this? Tony DeAngelo…who loves the Liberty design.
