Rangers Roundup: Brett Berard and Hunter Skinner win Gold at WJC, Day 4 camp schedule, and welcome to the Mass Mutual East Division

The New York Rangers were bound to have two prospects win Gold no matter who won last night at the WJC. After a thrilling 2-0 performance, Brett Berard and Hunter Skinner of Team USA have claimed Gold.

Highly touted prospect and Rangers second 1st round pick, Braden Schneider won Silver with Team Canada. Another 2020 selection, goalie Dylan Garand took home the Silver as well.

Team USA wins Gold at WJC

“You could tell they hadn’t seen that kind of ground game from any other team in the tournament,” MVP Trevor Zegras said after the win. “We got a couple of quick goals early in those periods and from there we just kind of put it on shutdown mode and played great defense.”

The United States won it all and Zegras scored a goal and an assist in a 2-0 shutout over the favored Canadians.
