Kaapo Kakko poised to improve (NYR)

The Rangers skated today after a hard fought loss to the Boston Bruins yesterday. Artemi Panarin remains out of action, but both K’Andre Miller and Ryan Lindgren did not skate today (maintenance).

Lindgren was driven hard into the boards last night and received a nasty cut over his eye. He went to the bench, and got worked on and miss zero shifts.

Nils Lundkvist and Vitali Kravtsov face-off

The two highest rated prospects in the NYR system faced off today in Sweden at the Beijer Hockey Games tournament. It could not have been a more different story for either of them.

Nils Lundkvist led all skaters with 28:07 of ice time and notched three shots on goal. Meanwhile, Vitali Kravtsov was benched for a large portion of the game and played a grand total of 4:41.

Russia would beat Sweden in the shootout 2-1.

Tony DeAngelo and the Expansion Draft

As thing have died down around Tony DeAngelo, it sounds like the Rangers would be just fine holding onto to him for the expansion draft.
