Rangers Roundup: Morgan Barron mulling decision, Zac Jones on fellow prospects, and more
The Rangers future is bright regardless of when the 2020 NHL Draft takes place. Just to follow up from yesterday’s news, there is no decision yet on the draft after the Board of Governors call. One may come today or later this week. Also, we should learn today more about the hub cities under consideration for the resumption of play.
Morgan Barron Delaying Decision
The Rangers have made an offer to the Hobey Baker Finalist, but Morgan Barron is waiting to gather more information before he makes any decision. He can either begin his pro career with the Wolf Pack or return to Cornell and make a NCAA championship run that was denied him when the pandemic cancelled the season. His decision will start to become clearer once the AHL announces its plans this week.
“I know a lot of schools are making contingency plans for if there’s not a fall semester,” Barron said. “What is that going to mean for college sports? I don’t have the answer to that. There’s definitely this weird fog covering both sides, pretty much making it impossible to make a decision right now.”LOHUD
Zac Jones on fellow Rangers prospects
The Rangers highly regard four defense prospects and see them as future NHLers. Everyone knows K’Andre Miller and Nils Lundkvist but the two others are rising stars in Zac Jones and Matthew Robertson.
Recently Jones conducted a Q&A and talked about his game, future, and fellow prospects. On Team USA teammate Miller, he likened him to a football player in the corners and can physically take over a game. When it came to Lundkvist, he compared him to Erik Karlsson due to his calmness with the puck and ability to make plays in the o-zone.

Comeback Week on MSG Networks
MSGN continues their decade-themed nights and this week features classic comebacks and fantastic finishes from the Rangers in the 1980’s. Some of the highlights include the team’s big playoff comeback against the Flyers back in ’86 and Brad Richards tying goal and Marc Staal’s overtime winner against the Caps during the playoffs in ’12.
