Vitali Kravtsov back in NY

Blueshirts Vitali Kravtsov is still considered a rookie after playing in only 20 games last season. He is back in New York per a recent Instagram Post posted late Wednesday night.

Per CDC guidelines, vaccinated travelers do not need to quarantine. Kravtsov will likely take part in the Rangers rookie camp which should start in about three weeks.

In 2020-21, the 21 year-old registered 4 points in 20 contests. This year presents a huge opportunity for Vitali with the departure of Pavel Buchnevich. He will be given a long look to play on the one of the team’s top two lines.

Rangers playoff odds

The New York Rangers are favored to make the playoffs per theScore’s Alex Moretto. That being said, odds have 6 of the 8 teams in the Metro Division with a better chance to get into postseason play than missing it. So the playoffs aren’t a given. Here’s how each team ranks to get in:

  • New York Islanders -300
  • Pittsburgh Penguins -265
  • Washington Capitals -150
  • Carolina Hurricanes -150
  • New York Rangers -150
  • Philadelphia Flyers -120
  • New Jersey Devils +160
  • Columbus Blue Jackets +1200

As you can see, the Islanders and Penguins are clear favorites to make it. However, three teams in the Caps, Canes, and Blueshirts are all tied for third. Gerard Gallant has his work cut out for him, but Chris Drury certainly may make a move to give him an edge.
