“I chose number 13 because my two favorite numbers were retired.”

That’s what Alexis Lafreniere, who has been wearing 11 said in a recent interview. We all know that Mark Messier’s number hangs up in the rafters.

“Growing up I liked Pavel Datsyuk, and he was a player I watched a lot,” Alexis explained about his choice. The Red Wings great was beloved and known as the “Magic Man”. That because Datsyuk was incredible with the puck, slick passing, and deke goals.

“I think 13 is a good looking number and I went with this number, it’s a pretty cool number,” Lafreniere concluded.
