Rangers sign Kevin Rooney, Colin Blackwell and Brandon Crawley

The Rangers made two small signings in the early going of free agency. One is Wolf Pack defenseman Brandon Crawley, and the other is Devils center Kevin Rooney.

Brandon Crawley

The Blueshirts inked the 23 year-old NJ native today who split time with the Pack and Maine Mariners of the EXCHL last season. In nine games with the Wolf Pack he did not have a point and registered six penalty minutes.

The 6-1, 202-pounder has skated in 123 career AHL games over parts of three seasons (2017-18 – 2019-20), all with the Wolf Pack, registering five goals and 15 assists for 20 points, along with 216 penalty minutes. Crawley established AHL career-highs in goals (three), assists (12), points (15), and penalty minutes (111) in 2018-19, and he also ranked sixth among AHL defensemen in penalty minutes during the season. He also led AHL rookies in penalty minutes in 2017-18 (99). – via NYR PR

Kevin Rooney

The ex-Devils center is 27 years-old and a big boy at 6’2″.

Colin Blackwell

Was a center in the Nashville Predators organization. He is 27 years old.
