Unfortunately, the New York Rangers will not be broadcasting these games. The expectation is that the team’s social media accounts will show photos and clips from the match tonight.

There still is a way to get in on the action thanks to the Philadelphia Flyers.

There is no television broadcast or stream for Friday’s game. Saturday’s game will be televised on NBCSP+. Both games will have radio broadcasts, with Phantoms play-by-play announcer Bob Rotruck on the call: 1470-WSAN (iheartradio app) Phantoms 365 app. A direct audio link is available here.

Which Rangers to watch for?

The Rangers rookie roster was released by the team earlier this week. You can get more details here.

A quick glance at the rookie camp roster looks like a potential lineup in 5 years. The Rangers have invited 13 forwards, 7 defenseman, and 3 goalies this season and we should see them all in action against the Flyers rookies in these scrimmages.

The forward group is led by Brennan Othmann, who is widely considered the organization’s top prospect after being selected 16th overall in 2021. He just completed Flint Firebirds camp and is set on trying to make the Rangers

“I want to keep the pace of play up,” Othmann said. “Keeping that confidence from this camp to Rangers camp is going to be huge.”

Othmann is followed by Will Cuylle and Adam Sykora, both second round picks in the 2020 and 2022 drafts respectively. Other notable names to watch are Adam Edstrom, Bobby Trivigno, and Ryder Korczak.

On defense, Zac Jones is the name that stands out. I didn’t expect to see the third round pick from 2019 on the roster but he’s been in the area training for his big opportunity since last week. He will be competing with Matthew Robertson, a 2019 second round selection for the third left defense spot at camp.

“I think that spot’s open and it’s going to be a healthy competition,” Jones said on Wednesday. “Coming in last year I felt I had an opportunity to make the team, so it’s the same mindset and I’ll work my hardest.”

In goal, Dylan Garand is the one to watch. The fourth round choice in 2020 is fresh off an undefeated World Junior Championship to win Gold and is showing promise. He will split time with Talyn Boyko (4th rd 2021) and Olof Lindbom (2nd rd 2018).
