The New York Rangers have released their prospect report for November 30, 2020. In this edition, U.S. born Zac Jones shows why the organization is envisioning him on Broadway in the future.

Below are excerpts from the official report provided to the media via the New York Rangers.

New York Rangers prospect report has Zac Jones on top

  • Zachary Jones tallied a shorthanded goal on Nov. 27 at Boston College, and he recorded three shots on goal on Nov. 28 vs. Boston College. The Rangers’ third round pick (68th overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) in four games with UMass thus far in 2020-21, and he has notched a point in three of the four contests. Jones is one of three NCAA defensemen who have registered two goals thus far this season. In addition, his three points and 13 shots on goal are each tied for the fourth-most among NCAA defensemen in 2020-21.

We recently spoke with Zac Jones and asked him who he models his game after. “As a kid I liked Erik Karlsson, but now that I am a bit older, I try to model my game after Torey Krug, a smaller guy, offensive, responsible in his D-zone,” he said.
