Alexandar Georgiev gets the start as Rangers work to trade him

Alexandar Georgiev will start in Minnesota tonight as Igor Shesterkin is day to day with an ankle injury. The Czar was run into in Winnipeg and the Jets’ player actually landed on his leg causing the issue. It should be noted that Shesterkin finished the contest and did not look like he was hindered in any way. Adrenaline rush or something else?

Georgiev gets the nod

Some may find it odd that Georgiev is getting the start over Henrik Lundqvist, but to me that’s indicative of who the Rangers are trying to move. While there seems to be conflicting reports that the Rangers would rather keep Georgiev, they are still actively trying to trade him.

Listening to Offers

Both Bob McKenzie and Elliotte Friedman have recently reported that the team is still taking calls. While they don’t feel pressured to move Georgiev, if the right deal comes they won’t hesitate to pull the trigger. So whether it is at the deadline or the draft, he looks like the goalie to be moved, not Henrik Lundqvist. The three teams still heard most connected for Georgiev are the Sharks, Canes, and Devils.
