Chris Kreider and Rangers contract negotiations on life support

Darren Dreger is reporting that Chris Kreider and the Rangers are stuck with regard to an extension. Unless they two sides can come to an agreement over the next few hours, Kreider will be on the move.

Here’s what I wrote yesterday on the CK20 situation.

From what I’ve been able to gather, the contract negotiations got hung up on term initially. While both sides seem amicable on 6 years being the max, it is coming down to money. Rangers obviously looking closer to 6M and Kreider’s camp wants over 7M. If he gets moved by the deadline then obviously they couldn’t close the gap. However, if he doesn’t get dealt and an extension is not done, that is a good indicator both sides feel they can resolve before July 1st.
