Chris Kreider trade rumors hit new gear

The trade chatter on Chris Kreider is ramping up. Both Elliotte Friedman and Frank Seravalli have mentioned the Avalanche and Bruins have ratcheted up their interest. Furthermore they includes the Blues, Caps, Panthers and even the Islanders although I remain extremely skeptical Lou Lamoriello would risk paying a ransom to only possibly lose him back to the Rangers in the summer.

Avs and Bruins

The price for Kreider will be a first round pick and a top prospect. I still feel the Avs would offer the best package but I remain firm the Blues are likely the most willing. St. Louis did just trade for Marco Scandella to replace Jay Bouwmeester and are in a good position to land Kreider too.

Both the spoked-B and the Avs are well positioned to land Kreider. Colorado has the ability to offer the complete package between their deeper prospect pool and ample salary cap space. They’re also currently missing another top-six centre in Nazem Kadri. Kreider would be a tougher salary squeeze in Beantown, but GM Don Sweeney had the magic touch last year around the deadline, acquiring another hometown forward in Charlie Coyle from the Wild for Ryan Donato.
