Chris Kreider’s status and Alexandar Georgiev trade rumors swirl with Leafs in town

Rumors swirl as Rangers take on Leafs

The New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs face-off at the Garden tonight with the puck drop at 7:30. Both teams have questions and have been linked in trade rumors, but will any of these questions get answered by the time the Leafs leave Broadway?

Kreider’s Status

Chris Kreider has been skating and by all accounts looks really good. According to coach Quinn, he was trying to talk his way into the lineup against Dallas but the Rangers played it cautious. The latest has Kreider as a game time decision. We will learn more from David Quinn at 6 PM today.

Georgiev Trade

Yesterday, I wrote how a deal between the Leafs and Rangers for Georgiev just makes too much sense. Well last night Toronto’s AHL affiliate scratched Jeremy Bracco, a LI native rumored to be part of a deal for Georgiev. This only adds fuel to the fire, especially after Frederik Andersen’s injury. So is a deal in the works? Georgiev is not playing tonight unless he is…for Toronto. The likelihood of a deal before the game that would cause the Rangers to possibly face him is low, but I’d watch the transaction wires after game for sure.
