In an about face, the Garden will have life long Blueshirt fan and anthem singer for the last 35 years make special guest appearances to sing at the Garden from “time to time.” An email sent to We Bleed Blue, Amirante shared that he was “disappointed” and didn’t understand why the Rangers were doing this.

Amirante was open on his feelings and told the Newsday that he “wanted to retire with some dignity. I just didn’t want to be shoved out the door…” Now it looks like he will get the chance to say goodbye on his own terms.
