The New York Rangers rookies are excited about hitting someone else other than a fellow teammate. Today in Tarrytown, they will be facing the Philadelphia Flyers in a back-to-back set.

What to look for

When it comes to some items to keep an eye on, Will Cuylle and Morgan Barron have been excellent in camp. They are followed by Lauri Pajuniemi as the top three forwards so far.

“Coming in and showing I can compete with older guys. I felt like I fit right in there in terms of strength and compete level,” Cuylle said about playing pro. “That’s a big part of my game, I think I showed that well to the coaches. I want to make the team.”

On defense, all eyes will be glued to what Nils Lundkvist can do. That can also be said for Braden Schneider and Matthew Robertson.

“I am going to the best I can to improve (at camp) and show everyone the player I am,” Lundkvist said after Day 2 of Development Camp. “I feel like I’ve had a great couple of years back home in Sweden. It feels like I’m prepared for this and hopefully I can do my best. It’s not me that is going to decide if I’m ready.”
