Igor Shesterkin will start his second game in a row after beating the Sabres on Tuesday. The Czar of New York did not have to be particularly great, but was solid when called upon.

This season Shesterkin is 5-7-1 with a .917 SV% and a 2.40 GAA.

Rangers get some great injury updates

Kaapo Kakko is off the COVID list and according to David Quinn is very close. He could play in the second game of this stand against the Devils. However, the big news was Jacob Trouba back at practice. The Rangers top defenseman is well ahead of expectation and is “tracking sooner than later”. He’s officially day-to-day with a broken thumb.
