The New York Rangers have extended Jonathan Quick with a one-year deal per Kevin Weekes.

Quick, 38, has a record of 13-5-2 with a 2.45 GAA, and a .916 save percentage this season. After signing a one-year deal in the offseason to play for his childhood favorite team, this has worked out beautifully for both sides.

Update:

According to Chris Johnston, the deal comes with an AAV of $1.275 million. Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli notes Quick has a 20 team no-trade clause.

In Mid-February, Forever Blueshirts reached out to Quick’s agent to ask about the possibility of an extension.

“Jonathan is enjoying his time with the Rangers,” George Bazos replied. “I am sure he would like to play at least another season. We have not begun extension talks, but I would guess that we will speak whenever the Rangers are ready.”

Apparently, the Rangers were ready well in advance of July 1, when Quick would have become an unrestricted free agent.
