Move over Sean Avery, Matthew Barnaby is the newest former Rangers bad boy

According to various reports, former Rangers tough guy Matthew Barnaby has been arrested. Apparently he chocked a bouncer outside of a Nashville bar and also was intoxicated.

No stranger to the law

Sadly this isn’t the first time according to the NYPOST.

It’s not Barnaby’s first run-in with the law, having pleaded not guilty to five charges for an incident with his estranged wife at her home in May of 2011. Barnaby, whose NHL career ended after 15 years in 2007, allegedly broke down his ex-wife’s door, confronted her in front of police and made harassing phone calls to her boyfriend.

All this was first reported out of Buffalo, a city Barnaby is a bit of hero in from his time with the Sabres. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 27th.

A Good Dad

Barnaby has had problems with alcohol in the past, but up until this incident has been a good citizen. You will also find him routinely posting pictures of he and his daughter on his twitter feed. At this time, he’s been arrested and not convicted so let’s not rush to judge.
