New York Rangers center Ryan Strome played the first period against the Buffalo Sabres but did not return for the second period. He is out for the game with a lower-body injury.

Strome played did not miss a regular turn as his line with Artemi Panarin and Andrew Copp totaled six shifts. It was on his last shift that his turnover led to the Sabres first goal.

At one point, it appears that he seems to be laboring with his skating.

In his absence, Tyler Motte was promoted to center the second line and Copp took his spot on the power play.

The Rangers and Sabres are tied at 3 heading into the third.
