The New York Rangers picked up their first victory in game 2 of the season last night. A 5-0 win over the rival New York Islanders that was as complete a game as any team can play.

According to NHL Stats and Information, Kakko’s 11 career goals as a teenager are fourth-most by a teenager in Rangers history (Mike Allison – 24; Alexei Kovalev – 15; Filip Chytil – 12).
- Adam Fox tallied a power play assist and tied for the game-high with two takeaways in 21:41 of ice time.
- Mika Zibanejad recorded an assist and tied for the game-high with 11 faceoff wins (11-for-22; 50.0%).
- Brendan Smith tallied an assist and posted a plus-three rating.

- K’Andre Miller posted a plus-three rating in tonight’s game. He became the first Rangers defenseman to post a plus-three rating or better in one of his first two career NHL games since Tom Laidlaw on Oct. 11, 1980 at Toronto.
