New York Rangers Complete Draft Day Deal

The New York Rangers traded their 102nd pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft to San Jose Sharks, In exchange for the 123rd pick as well as the 174th pick in 2017 NHL Draft. This trade happened, as Rangers were on the clock for the 102nd pick.

This was a deal that helped both New York Rangers bolster their prospect pool, as well as help San Jose get the players they wanted. In a draft that isn’t that deep past the 1st round. Its safer to take more players with the hopes of landing a future gem. Remember the Rangers also didn’t have a pick in the 2nd or 3rd rounds of this draft. So this was a very easy deal for Rangers brass to make.
