The Rangers have concluded practice and David Quinn has provide a few additional notes for your consumption. First, let’s begin with your first official look at Morgan Barron at practice. He will wear jersey #47 as he and Tarmo Reunanen are expected to play tomorrow per the head coach.

Jacob Trouba injury update; Alexandar Georgiev to start

Jacob Trouba has been out with an upper-body injury after being leveled by Matt Martin over a week ago. The defenseman was clearly wobbling and needed help off the ice. David Quinn will know more about his status tomorrow, but it would likely be wise to shelve him for the season.

The Rangers also announced that Alexandar Georgiev will get the nod in goal tomorrow.

Seattle Kraken officially join the NHL

The Seattle Kraken are now officially the 32nd franchise in the NHL. They made their final installment payment today, which confirms their inclusion for next season.

“Today is another momentous day on the journey to puck drop,” owner David Bonderman wrote. “I would like to thank Gary Bettman and the NHL for welcoming us to the league.” The message continued with a shout out to their already growing fan base. “I also want to thank my partners in our ownership group for their support and our incredible fans who have made their enthusiasm for hockey heard loud and clear.”

The NHL also sent out a message in kind after the Kraken made their final payment today.

“On behalf of the Board of Governors, I am delighted to officially welcome the Seattle Kraken to the NHL as our 32nd Member Club,” Commissioner Gary Bettman said. “Congratulations to David Bonderman, the Bonderman Family, their partners, the entire Seattle Kraken organization, the city of Seattle and Kraken fans as the Club continues on its exciting journey towards puck drop in October.”
