Yes, it’s true but relax Rangers fans because it was only in the KHL as his current club moved him to St. Petersburg SKA.

Here’s the blurb out of Russia:

[su_quote cite=”Sportsbox” url=”https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fnews.sportbox.ru%2FVidy_sporta%2FHokkej%2Ftransfers%2Fspbnews_NI579515_Buchnevich_stal_igrokom_SKA”]Forward Cherepovets “Severstal” Paul Buchnevich moved to St. Petersburg SKA in exchange for monetary compensation.

Buchnevich is a bronze and silver medalist of the World Youth Championships, was called to the national team of Russia in the Euro Tour stages.

This season, the CHL 20-year-old striker took part in 40 matches and scored 29 (12 +17) points.[/su_quote]

The bad news is that SKA is playoff bound and good enough to go all the way, which means only chance of seeing Buchnevich would be late February. A key note to understand is that this move was for money because Severstal’s GM knew that Buchnevich was headed for the NHL as did Sergei Zubov who is the coach and GM of SKA.

So Buchnevich is coming…you’ll just have to wait a bit longer.
