Although the NYR have yet to make it official, salary cap website, General Fanager have confirmed the deal is done.

A Plethora of Forwards

This now gives the Rangers 15 forwards and the fact that this is a one way deal means they have Pirri slotted to be in the starting the lineup. So this now opens up the possibility of another trade to possibly obtain a defenseman.

Which Ranger will be moved? Everyone will point to Rick Nash, but we can’t rule out forwards like Jesper Fast or Oscar Lindberg. The reality is that due to his recovering from dual hip surgery, Fast is the likely candidate.

Let’s face it, sweetening a deal with Jesper Fast along with a defenseman could get the Rangers the type of player they need to play on their top 4. Of course, everyone wants Dan Girardi or Marc Staal sent the other way, but they would need to waive their no move clauses and that is unlikely. So it is possible that Kevin Klein might be the defenseman moved.
