Kris Knoblauch has been tapped to coach the AHL All Star Game. The first year Wolf Pack head coach has earned the honor by leasing his charges to the top of the Atlantic division.

Knoblauch has turned the Pack around quickly and it bodes well for the rebuilding Rangers as well.

“There is an emphasis in winning,” Knoblauch said. “The goal in the American League, for any team, is developing players for the National Hockey League. To do that, your prospects need ice time in order to perform and develop. But to do that, I think it’s really important that teams win. Just because a player gets ice time, doesn’t mean it’s going to be the right development for him. You have to balance on making it a competitive environment, a successful environment and giving players opportunities to get better.”
