The Rangers returned home, and failed to capitalize on their chance of making the playoffs losing to the Senators 3-2.

Shots Pour; But Goals Don’t Come
41 shots on goal but only 2 goals to answer for it. A typical Ranger game that we have all come to know. But the Senators played solid defensively when the time mattered. Something that the Rangers, failed to do in key moments in the early going, making it harder for them to come back. Mats Zuccarello scored two for the Rangers defecting point shots from John Moore and Marc Staal.

Yet, the Rangers pressing hard in the late third, could not put one past goaltender Robin Lehner. A late skirmish between Staal and Neal, along with Brassard and Zuccarello getting involved, made tonight’s atmosphere a playoff type game. A game where the referee’s blew the whistle if they really needed to, and a game where both teams were fighting for something more.

What Lies Ahead
The Rangers have two more home games on their belt, as they are against non-playoff teams, but two teams that are trying to play spoiler. The Rangers must stay the course, and play solid hockey. The Rangers just need one point. They will get it.
