Rangers Look To Douse Flames

No win this time of the year comes easy, if you’re playing a team that’s either already in the show, a team fighting to get in, or a team that’s out, its not a guarantee you’ll pick up the W.

Nonetheless, the Rangers stroll into the Scotiabank Saddledome tonight to face the Calgary Flames in hopes of a 6th straight win. The Rangers seem to be catching “Fire” at the right time of the season, the time when a win is huge.

The Flames have been eliminated from the 2014 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, but those teams who are already out are usually the toughest to play against. They have nothing to lose, they play loose and they seem to have a little more fun playing the game.

With the newly put together line of Derek Stepan, Rick Nash, and Martin St. Louis, look for them to play a solid game tonight. Maybe St. Louis finds an extra spark somewhere tonight when he plays the team that brought him into this league.

The Calgary Flames definitely aren’t a team that will “WOW” you with big names, but they have an all around decent roster and anytime a player like Mike Cammalleri is on the ice you have to watch out for him.

I wouldn’t expect any lineup changes from Wednesday night’s victory over the Flyers. Assume Henrik Lundqvist is in net for the Blueshirts.

Fulltilt Forecast: Rangers continue their hot ways and pick up another 2 points tonight. Not without a little drama and heartache though, 4-3 in OT. (MSL gets the winner *prays*)
