Rangers look to build on OT win when they face the Penguins at MSG

Rangers vs Penguins: Tonight the Blueshirts will look to build over the joy and excitement of Alexis Lafreniere’s OT winner against the Sabres. They face the Penguins tonight, and it will be no easy task as they lost both games (1 in a shootout) in Pittsburgh just last week.

(7:00 p.m. ET – TV: MSG Network, Radio: ESPN 98.7 FM).

Rangers: 2-4-1 (5 pts)
Penguins: 4-3-1 (9 pts)

Note: Rangers will have a morning skate at 10:30 a.m. at MSG Training Center. Rangers Head Coach David Quinn and select players will be available to the media via zoom following the morning skate around 11:30 a.m.

Rangers vs Penguins: Don’t expect any lineup changes

Igor Shesterkin is projected to start tonight against the Penguins. He played a rock solid game against the Sabres and will look to keep it going. After four starts, he has a 2.73 GAA, with an .894 SV% and a record of 1-2-1.

Jack Johnson was listed as day-to-day with a groin strain, but considering the Rangers are coming off a win you can expect Brendan Smith to remain in the lineup.

Same for the lines, as Colin Blackwell has done an excellent job since being inserted into the lineup.
