There was some concern when Kaapo Kakko turned up on the NHL’s COVID Protocol List due to being a diabetic. His stint was brief as he was back on the ice for practice yesterday.

He will play on a line with Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome but David Quinn wanted to make some things clear about his young star today.

“Everybody has to stop comparing him to where we want him to be, the ultimate player,” he said. We have a vision of what we think Kaapo Kakko is going to look like. He’s 19 years old. Our job is to continue to monitor him and make sure he continues to get better and better.”

The head coach finished with what we are all seeing. “He’s doing that.”

Libor Hajek and Lady Liberty debut

Libor Hajek will finally get his chance to prove he belongs in the lineup. If the 22 year-old defenseman hopes to be a part of the Rangers future he needs to play a solid game tonight for starters.

Also, the Rangers will debut their Reverse Retros for the first time this season. Learn more here.
