Rangers lose more than just the game in Philly

Rangers lose Kreider and the game.

The Rangers finally lost a road game, their 1st in 10 games. After an auspicious beginning where Artemi Panarin made a long distance pass to hit Jesper Fast for a goal, the Flyers took control and ended the team’s streak of 5 straight wins.

Panarin’s Magic

The only real bright spot was this beauty of a pass from Panarin to Fast. It gave the Rangers an early 1-0 lead, but that was the only threat for the game.

Bad Break

The wind left their sails in the first period like a punch to the gut. Chris Kreider blocked a shot from Philippe Myers and went down immediately. He tried to take another shift, but it was a no go. The Blueshirts would later announce Kreider suffered a fractured foot and would not return. After the game David Quinn said he had no timetable for Kreider’s return.

Good News?

The Flyers would go on to win the game 5-2, after Howden got a late goal. When it comes to the playoff chase the Blue Jackets lost to Minnesota. So the Rangers still remain 2 points out of the last playoff spot.
