A heartbreaking 3-2 shootout loss for the Rangers on Thursday, NY heads back home with a playoff spot right at their fingertips.

First of Three
This will be the team’s first of three remaining home games this regular season, as they look to gather momentum heading into the playoffs. Each of these home games are important, as they are looking to get the the second spot in the division. The hope is to be the home team, in their probable matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers.

But besides points, being at home in front of the Garden Faithful has to help too. It’s been a long week and a half without the home feel and the excitement of playing in Madison Square Garden. The Rangers must take advantage of these three games, and it starts with the game today against Ottawa.

Remember the Last Matchup?
The last time these two met, defense was left at the door. It obviously wasn’t the main priority as the Rangers and Senators were in a shootout. Luckily for NY it was in their favor as they doubled up the Senators 8-4 that Tuesday in March, but defense has to be at a high level for them to be playoff ready.

The Rangers will once again be without Ryan McDonagh, and while his offense was dearly missed, the teams defensive game was still very solid. Every game the Rangers must play has to be like a playoff game.

FullTilt Forecast
The Rangers return home with an extra pep in their step. The Rangers will win this game 3-1 and will clinch their playoff spot, with the team hoping much more positive news comes their way.
