Rangers Roundup: Clarifying Zuccarello’s Wild decision and MSG’s full slate of rivalry games

People are still talking about Mats Zuccarello’s interview but some are misinterpreting some key points made by the former Blueshirt. Also here is the latest slate of games on MSG Network.

Zuccarello’s Desire to Play Out West

The aftershock of Mats Zuccarello’s Norwegian interview calling out Rangers management still has the hockey world and Rangerstown buzzing. Mats unloaded on management for the way they handled his situation and going to bat for his best bud, Henrik Lundqvist.

However, some other sites and fans seem to be misinterpreting Mats comments about deciding to sign with the Wild because he didn’t want to play at MSG more than once a year. Roy Kvatningen who has been covering Mats for years and did the interview wanted to make sure it was clear that Zuccarello made that decision because of his love for the Rangers fans.

He was right because upon his return this past season, Mats was very emotional during the video tribute. Fans showered him with chants of “Zuuuuccc” and the ovation lasted awhile. That was the main reason why he wanted to sign with a team out West, not for any other reason.
