Rangers Roundup: Kravtsov confusion, Jacques Martin rumor, and more news

Good Morning New York Rangers fans! I hope you all had a great weekend. The weather was beautiful so I am sure many of you missed out on a lot of news. Let’s get you all caught up.

Vitali Kravtsov KHL Konfusion!

Yesterday, many Rangers fans woke up to some confusing news. KHL club Traktor, announced that Vitali Kravtsov will spend the entire season with them. Several reporters both in Russia and North America stated this was a good move for Kravtsov to spend the whole season in the KHL.

The translation of the tweet reads, “As part of the “black and white” striker will spend a full season.Initial reports claimed that the Rangers can recall Kravtsov at anytime, but this was now in direct conflict.

I reached out to Vitali’s agent, Paul Theofanous who told me the report was inaccurate and confirmed it with the team. Vince Mercogliano was on yesterday’s podcast and reiterated that the Rangers can call back Kravtsov at any time. That’s the official word.

Could Jacques Martin replace Lindy Ruff

I hate to question Elliotte Friedman, but in his most recent 31 Thoughts blog he wrote that Jacques Martin could replace Lindy Ruff on the Rangers staff. The 67 year-old was just fired by the Penguins and is considered a smart defensive coach.

While I can understand the connection, I am not sure if the Rangers wouldn’t just give Gord Murphy or Greg Brown a chance to run the defense next season. We will see.
