Rangers Roundup: Latest on Chris Kreider, Alexandar Georgiev, and Jesper Fast

With all the talk focused on Chris Kreider, Alexandar Georgiev, and question marks like Henrik Lundqvist, Tony DeAngelo, and Pavel Buchnevich one Ranger isn’t getting much attention. So what are the Rangers going to do with Jesper Fast?

No Word on Talks

Reports broke that the Rangers and UFA, Chris Kreider would meet and tonight Bob McKenzie states those talks are underway. However, there has been no indication that the team and versatile forward Jesper Fast are scheduled to talk. I reached out to KO Sports who represent Fast and thus far they have not responded. So are the Rangers resigned to trading Jesper Fast to make room on the right side for Vitali Kravtsov? Sure seems like the case at the moment.

INSIDER TRADING

As mentioned before, Kreider and the Rangers are talking but while there could be some “optimism” as McKenzie stated, it is still not a guarantee. McKenzie then went on to say that if the Rangers do sign him then it would be at the cost of Pavel Buchnevich or an RFA, in Tony DeAngelo or Ryan Strome which I find very hard to believe.

McKenzie then discusses Georgiev and he makes it clear the Rangers are still listening. Once again, the Rangers have a price in mind and they won’t budge. Regardless. He feels the 3 goalie situation will be resolved by the summer.
