Tonight’s game against San Jose will be the same as Carolina unless Chytil can’t go.

After tonight’s game, we will learn the fate of Chris Kreider. From what I’ve been able to gather, the contract negotiations got hung up on term initially. While both sides seem amicable on 6 years being the max, it is coming down to money. Rangers obviously looking closer to 6M and Kreider’s camp wants over 7M. If he gets moved by the deadline then obviously they couldn’t close the gap. However, if he doesn’t get dealt and an extension is not done, that is a good indicator both sides feel they can resolve before July 1st.

- 2019-20: Tonight’s game is the second of two meetings between the Rangers and Sharks, and the only meeting between the two teams at MSG. Artemi Panarin registered four points (three goals, one assist) and tallied his first hat trick as a Ranger in the contest.
- The Rangers enter the contest with a four-game winning streak against the Sharks. In addition, the Blueshirts have earned at least one point in nine of their last 11 meetings against San Jose, dating back to Oct. 19, 2014 (8-2-1 record over the span).
- Henrik Lundqvist – 13 GP, 6-5-1, 2.70 GAA, .921 SV%, 1 SO – Lundqvist has allowed one goal or fewer in three of his last eight appearances against San Jose, and he has made at least 30 saves in six of those eight contests (2.52 GAA, .928 SV%, 1 SO over the span).
